Apple Pops

Are you looking for a healthier option for your next party? How about a caramel apple bar? The recipe for these apple pops is bellow, do you need to wait for a party probably not my kids would love them and Madam 4 would get a kick out of dipping them too.

Apple S'more - Mini marshmallows, Graham cracker crumbs, chocolate chips and caramel

Toffee Caramel Peanut - White chocolate, chopped peanuts, Skor toffee bits and caramel

Peanut Caramel - Dark chocolate, caramel and chopped peanuts (for a healthier option, skip the caramel)

Coconut Chocolate - Dark chocolate and shredded coconut (healthy option)

Cheesecake - White chocolate, caramel, graham crackers and cinnamon brown sugar mix.

Apple Pie - White chocolate, caramel, cinnamon brown sugar mix

Tips
Use a muffin tin to holds the toppings - brown sugar and cinnamon, mini marshmallows, chopped peanuts, graham cracker crumbs, chocolate chips, and Skor toffee bits

To prevent apples from turning brown, dip apple wedges in a carbonated drink (which contain citric acid) such as ginger ale, lemon-lime soda (Sprite).

Caramel

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/8 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1
In a medium heavy saucepan cook the sugar undisturbed over medium heat until it starts to melt - about 5 minutes. Once it starts melting stir constantly until smooth and completely dissolved. Add cream a little at a time (it will bubble up a lot as you add it so be careful). Continue stirring as you add the cream until it is smooth. Add the honey and salt and continue stirring and cooking over medium low heat for about 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and add butter and vanilla. Stir well. Allow to cool some before dipping. Store leftovers in the refrigerator, covered.
Makes about 1 cup.
